Mural Planning, Prep, & Painting
Students were introduced to Mexican Muralism and community based projects such as that of Judy Baca. Students were taught the significance of group effort work through the mural process which includes research, sketching, wood panel preparation, and final execution. Students presented their work at the LACER Starfest Art Show.

Cultural Ties with Art Education
The month of October is revered as a time for students to reflect on their heritage with lesson plans based on Day of the Dead. Students are taught how to create their own installation work by creating altars for family members that have passed on and how to curate their own “Día de Los Muertos” gallery and eventually were able to install their work at the Hollywood Forever Day of the Dead Event.

Digital Art
A broad range of students were given the opportunity to work in a digital studio setting and were taught a variety of digital software. Students of all ages, learning levels, and backgrounds came together to make wearable digital art, printed artwork, custom buttons and stickers etc. Students were also granted a spcae to exhibit their collaborative animated project at the Warner Grand Theater in San Pedro.
